Recently one of the departments on campus cleaned out a storage closet and got rid of about 2 dozen Pro-350s and assorted software for them. They gave the computers away free to anyone on campus who wanted them and had a moderately hard time finding any takers. The computers hadn't been used in a number of years and the folks currently in the office didn't remember too well how the computers worked or what software was on which computer. I picked up copies of 4 database programs with the intention of choosing one to use and to give away the other three. What I got was: NPL, Information Management System ADR/DATA, Information Management Retrieval and Reporting RDM Datatrieve Can anyone make a recommendation as to what's good to keep from among those four? The RDM appears to be copy protected, it looks for the computer's serial number. I have the original disks and documentation but there was no indication in the docs which of the Pro-350s the disks were intended for. The office workers already disposed of the equipment and it would not have been worthwhile for me to install it on all 24 machines looking for which one it fits, anyway. Is there any known work-arounds for that serial number? Thanks! Chaim chaim@eniac.seas.upenn.edu
