A couple of months ago PENNRUG, the Rainbow Users Group at the University of Pennsylvania received a letter from a prisoner in the state prison in Florida asking for help learning to use a Rainbow. Unfortunately for him PENNRUG is not quite but almost defunct and hasn't held a meeting in a few years. I am posting the letter here in the hope that there is someone who would be kind enough to reply to it. (Spelling and grammatical errors are the writer's.) --------------posted letter----- To Whom It May Concern: Please here my complete story before you make your decision! My name is Roger, and I am a convicted felon with the DOC in Florida! I need some advice, and one request; Please advise me by mail what software (list) can be utilized through Code Blue, or any other means? Also, I was wondering if you could send me any old news letters, ect... you may have with valuable info about the Rainbow, or any other computer or printer! I have use of a Digital Rainbow here and we have very limited documentation ! I work for the state's dental lab, and we are only beginning to crack the automation barrior! Our budget is so limited we're lucky to have the Rainbow! It was not in our budget! I am trying to learn an education while here, and your help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance, Roger Smothers, Sr. #105153 Union Correctional Institution P.O. Box 221-67-209 Raiford, FL 32083 ----------------end of posted letter----- I assume what this guy could use the most is any books, pamphlets, newsletters, or other materials on computers that you might be throwing out. You should consider sending them to him. Or if you're interested in a "penpal" :^) you could write him. Thanks. Chaim Dworkin -- Chaim Dworkin (chaim@eniac.seas.upenn.edu)
