I have a friend who purchased a used Rainbow (Digital 100B) running CP/M. System has a 10Mb hard disk with WordStar, Basic and several other applications programs. The system was purchased with an Okidata Microline 82A Dot Matrix Printer(GE5232), with Superspeed RS232C current loop interface board. Pin settings on DIP are 1,2,3,4,6,8 OFF and 5,7 ON. When attempt is made to print from application printer responds but prints gibberish. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this problem. Manual with printer does not offer any solutions. DIP switch settings changed to other patterns with no success. Printer cable appears to be functional, and rest of system is working as it should. Any pointers or advice would be appreciated.
