Is anyone out there? I haven't seen much on this group. I have a question for anyone who might be on listening. Has anyone successfully installed GNU-emacs on an rt under AIX? The docs that come with GNU suggest that the files are there, but imply that it might not work. Phil Windley Robotics Research Lab University of California, Davis

I was just starting a major project on an RT and didn't want to use any other editors available. It was an old version of GNU (17.54 I think) and involved some pretty ugly hacks. I also had a few minor bugs left which didn't really affect use (at least the way I use it) and the time-required to increased-benefit ratio did not make it worthwhile to mess with them. It is definitely possible, and should be easier with the more recent versions of GNU. E-mail if you want more info. Jon Cargille splres10@usl-pc.usl.edu ...!ut-sally!usl!usl-pc!splres10
