We just got a new model 125 and AIX version 2.2. Installation continued smoothly until I was asked to insert Operating System Diskette 1. There were no diskettes labeled as such, but it seemed pretty obvious that they meant Base diskette 1. So, after inserting it, it said that the diskette was not readable. I checked it out on an AT and sure enough, it hadn't been formatted. The other diskettes (2 through 7) were OK. This was two weeks ago. The same day we reported the problem to our sales and technical group. They said that no-one in Atlanta had 2.2 yet so they would have to order another copy and it would arive in 2 days. It's been two weeks now and they still have not been able to get the new distribution. Was I the only one to receive a bad distribution? My only real problem with this situation is potential problems with installations at our clients' sites. After attending the AIX conference for MAPs last week it seems that IBM is REALLY dedicated to AIX on their entire product line. I just wish that the sales and support groups in the field could get up to speed with the new LOOK. robin -- ---------- Robin Cutshaw {gatech, rebel}!itcatl!robin Disc Access, Atlanta, Ga.
