[comp.sys.ibm.pc.rt] /usr/lib/pp4216/ppsadapt.mod

i am the proud owner of a personal pageprinter, model 4216. this odd beast
wants to have a postscript interpreter downloaded into its controller board.
according the the 4.3 documentation, the interpreter code is supposed to live
in /usr/lib/pp4216/ppsadapt.mod, but it did not come with the latest version
of 4.3 bsd (december 88).

does anyone have a copy of ppsadapt.mod? if so, how did you get it? did you
buy it? do you know the part number?

What you need is the 'Publishing Systems PostScript Interpreter RT PC
Edition' (5871-COM). It has the microcode included in it. All you
need to do is put it in /usr/lib/pp4216, run:

	'ldps /usr/lib/pp4216/ppsadapt.mod',

and set:

	 use_pp4216="yes"

in /etc/rc.config, so it'll get loaded when you re-boot.
The fonts should have come with the Postscript card package.
