[comp.sys.ibm.pc.rt] Ok, How about BSD4.3 for a commercial site?

peter@hydrovax.nmt.edu (03/01/89)

Hi again,

Thanks to all the people replying to my question on BSD for the 135.
Mentioned were ACIS and AOS. My sales rep has never heard of either of
these, but I'm not surprised.

In short, the problem with these two are that this is not a university
machine. We need support for a commercial site.

The 135 using the Megapel is indeed nice. Someone mentioned not liking
the two strips of dead space on the sides. I really like the pixel
density that this gives the display. It makes looking at the display for
long times tolerable. I also like the refresh rate of the Megapel. I am
becoming fond of its ability to emulate CGA in the hardware. I recently
installed the PC/AT Simulator and I use its emulation rather than the
Advanced Color Display Adapter.

I find the Advanced Color Display repulsive. The colors are terrible
and the slow refresh rate hurts my eyes. I can see scan lines in the
display which makes it very hard to fucus my eyes on it. I don't use it
as a result.

Thanks again,
Peter
