The AHA-1542A is identical to the AHA-1540A AT-bus SCSI controller, except that it also contains a floppy controller (presumably with the same interface as the IBM AT floppy/hard disk controller, though I can't be sure.) However, the AHA-1540A is on some sort of manufacturing hold until the end of April, and I needed it sooner. The 1542A board arrived today, sans any manual or documentation, which should be remedied once I phone and charbroil the salesman for shipping it to me without such. However, I'd like to get started NOW, so I have a question, if any of you might know the answer... My application really only needs the SCSI controller, and I'd like to disable the floppy interface if at all possible to avoid conflicts with an existing floppy/ST506 controller. Is anyone out there familiar with the 1542A board or has the documentation on hand who can tell me whether this is possible, and if so, how?
