Hi again. More questions!!! 1) I installed X11 on my 6150 running AIX 2.2.1 For some reason, the X server is left running when I exit my logon window. Thus I get a locked screen with grey and a cursor in it. Is there something I need to change in xinit? I am still setting all this up, so what I do is a fire up a csh logon and the last line on my .login is exec /usr/bin/xinit ....... 2) With the release of PS-2 AIX, is this news group going to help this "new to AIX" group? Should there be a group comp.sys.aix instead of rt? Seems we should break by OS, not by machine (Just an opinion). The knowledge of the netpeople on this group could help a lot of new PS2 AIXers, unless you are tired of answering dumb questions (like mine). 3) Related back to #1, Is it just my imagination or does the IBM/AIX implementation of X-windows "leaves a lot to be desired" (sucks!!). By the books and other materials, seemed like X-Windows was much better and straight forward than what I am getting!! Thanks for any/all answers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Internet: sergio@squid.rtech.com Sergio L. Hello, If you wish to kill off the X-server simply press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. This will kill off the X-server along with the windows and window-manager. Paul
