I found the pinouts for the 4-port card, which I assume are the same as the backplane ports. I am now trying to connect the serial port to a Bridge Communications Server/100, and run ATE (I know) to pretend my RT is a VT100. I am using the following cable connection: 2 Transmit Data <-------> Receive Data 6 bridge 3 Receive Data <-------> Transmit Data 1 7 Signal Ground <-------> Signal Ground 10 RT (10-pin) 20 DTR <---+---> DTR 2 |---> DSR 7 ^ +---> Carrier Detect 9 db25 pin +--> RTS 3 |--> ring 4 +--> CTS 8 I added tty0 with devices, auto-enable is off, etc., I configured it just like an internal modem I have that works on another machine. ATE (all set up to talk, no modem control strings, parity, baud, #bits, stop, mark, etc. are set identically to a terminal that works when connected to the same cable. ATE thinks that it gets connected (not surprising), but no data over the wire. If you can tell me how to fix this, I will be most grateful! Thanks--- John-- ...................................
