We just got the PC AT SIMULATOR from IBM yesterday which is meant to be similar to the VP/ix of SCO Xenix. It is and works rather well except, once it's been running for a while we get PgSpace low Kill Process(es) NOW. Entering Synch Mode etc.. then after a while it goes away... Mostly when I access lp0 (parallel, mono card) for any reason. A call to IBM only suggests we increase our page space. Our page space on this machine is already 24000blks. There was only one user on the system.. No terminals and just the one printer. This is a 6150-025. I haven't tried it on our 6151-115's yet but I don't imagine this will be any different. Also using V2.2 of AIX... Has anyone else experienced a "13c6" after using the Parallel printer extensively? We have a bunch of customers running AIX 2.1.2 and they don't get this problem. Now, our new customers are getting this "13c6" primarily when using the parallel printer. It's not easily reproducible and happens with IBM Proprinter's, QuietWriter's and HP-LaserJet Series II. This is a Page fault error so I'm also thinking it may be related to my problem with the Simulator. Another piece of information you might be interested in is the fact that one of our clients had V2.1.2 until their machine crashed so I reinstalled 2.2 in the machine (they were due for an upgrade. bad news)... Now their machine constantly get's 13c6. They're running a 6151-115 with 4Meg's of RAM, 71 meg drive, 11 terminals and 4 printers. Other configurations include 6151-115 with 310Meg drive and a 6150-135 with 16MB ram and a 310MB drive. The problem doesn't seem to be model specific. Just OS specific. (when I refer to 13c6, I refer to the numeric display flashing 13 and c6 repeatedly and the machine being hung.) calls to IBM result only in "oh, do you have this fix level? no? we'll send it out to you. LEt us know what happens." 3 weeks and 2 fixes later nothing is changed. I've increased the page space on some of the machines by an exorbitant amount but it only seems to increase the amount of time between 13c6's. has ANYONE experienced this? This is running our customers as well as myself RAGGED. -- herb@blender.UUCP "Did I tell you I'm forgetful?"

I have installed a PC AT Simulator v1.1.1 in my RT AIX2.2. I have some old programs requiring use of Professional FORTRAN compiler. I want to use the RT machince to do the job. But when I compile the program, the compiler program exits with a messages: "PROFORT Requires math coprocessor". ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Is it possible for the PC AT Simulator to simulate the required math coprocessor?
