I am having a problem with our (AIX) RT (6161-115); I see far less disc space available than I expected. I was told that the formatted capacity of the disc was 70MB, but with my application software on the system (<20MB), there is literally no space left. A "df" shows about 95,000 blocks under the "total" column; that accounts for roughly 50MB. What happened to the other 20MB? -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dick Gill Professional Solutions Group (703)761-1163 ..uunet!psgdc!rg

From article <234@psgdc>, by rg@psgdc (Dick Gill): > formatted capacity of the disc was 70MB, but with my application > software on the system (<20MB), there is literally no space > left. A "df" shows about 95,000 blocks under the "total" Use the /etc/minidisks command to see what's allocated where. I suspect that you have 20 meg worth of pagespace, dump (hd4) and VRM. It also might be unallocated and will show up as 'free' in the minidisks command. -- Ed Clarke acheron!clarke
