I am trying to resinstall sendmail from my distribution diskettes. Everything proceeds normally until I get to Volume 5, when it tries to copy /usr/lib/edconfig it hangs the machine completely. I can't interrupt, etc. I have to reboot. I have two versions of the AIX 2.2.1 diskettes, both behave identically. I tried going back a step and installing the last version. There the Extended Services are on only 5 diskettes, and sure enought on Volume 4 this time, when we get to /usr/lib/edconfig it hangs the same way. Any ideas what could be wrong? My filesystems are not full and fsck passes them with no complaints.
