Our move of ibmsupt (the support machine for IBM/4.3) is complete. The following are phone numbers to call: speed number 1200bps (415) 855-4495 2400 (415) 424-0796 19200* (415) 424-0798 *Telebit Trailblazer with host-modem interface set at 19200 bps. For each speed there are two modems and lines with "hunting" for the avaiable line. Modems for 1200 and 2400 baud are dedicated to receiving calls, but the second Trailblazer is also used to call uunet. We don't have acucntrl working reliably yet, so if your machine calls while someone else is using the first trailblazer, the call may fail. With luck, we will fix this problem before contention for the first modem gets to be an issue. Note that the asy driver shipped in December does not work--even at 1200bps. Sites that have not yet applied the patch for the asy driver (V1.3), should use one of the two planar serial ports (ttys[01] to call at 1200bps and copy V1.3 from ibmsupt. Then use the asy ports (tty0[0-17]) to call at higher data rates. Users who are new to uucp may consult the "IBM Academic Operating System System Administrator's Guide" or O'Reilly's "Managing uucp and Usenet."
