There is an ongoing problem with netnews propagation which affects this newsgroup -- for the benefit of readers of this newsgroup the note from Brandon Allbery of 15 August is appended. The message ID is <63829@uunet.UU.NET>. Some postings known to exist at other sites are not (yet) available at IBM's Palo Alto nntp feed. ------- Forwarded Message I just got a letter from someone asking about the sudden "reposting" of messages from May and June. For the benefit of those of you who haven't been keeping up with the traffic in news.admin, I will explain. There is a *net-wide* re-propagation of news going on for some reason. The various Usenet "major" site admins are attempting to track it down; in the meantime, old messages are showing up in all newsgroups. We'll all have to bear with it until the "time warp" is found and eliminated. Archivers, take note -- beware of repeat messages. ++Brandon (sometimes I just *love* the Usenet....) ------- End of Forwarded Message Eric Brunner, IBM AWD Palo Alto inet: brunner@monet.berkeley.edu or brunner%ibmsupt@uunet.uu.net uucp: uunet!ibmsupt!brunner (415) 855-4486
