Hello Everyone,
I would like to thank those who sent in comments on how IBM should improve
its service for AIX. These were some of the "general ideas" that I saw:
1) Post bug fixes
2) Setup E-mail access to support center
3) Change/Extend the role of support center
- support common unix software for AIX
- allow calling in of design change requests
4) Improve testing of fixes (dynamic changes to test suites)
5) Publish AIX support structure
These ideas came in with only 8 people responding:
3 - domestic Hank V., Jim M., Chris M.
2 - international Jamie W., Wolfgang L.
3 - IBM internal John G., Joshua S., Charlie S.
"So what's gonna come out of this?" Understandably, I can't promise
anything, but, I will tell you that we are working on "pilot" programs that
address some of the most important ideas above. Stay tuned...
Thanks to everyone for their input. I will be monitoring the mail for any
additional comments for a couple of weeks, so feel free to add to the above
list.
With Best Regards,
Jerome

It might also help to bring the national AIX support centers onto the net. As far as I know, the one for Germany is in Munich, but when I talked to someone from there a couple of weeks ago, he didn't even know what Usenet was and whether or not they had access to it. -- Christian Motz uucp: ...!uunet!mcvax!unido!nadia!dialog!root "Trust me, I know what I'm doing!" -- Sledge Hammer Bix: cmotz
