----- the $13,000 price may not be the valid one for many colleges. i gather that if a school is part of the HESC (higher ed software consortium) then one gets a site license for all software. assuming a computing center foots that bill, then one can deduct about $1,700 for software from the list price. you then apply the appropriate educational discount to the remainder. in our case we end up with a $8,000 price tag.
