[comp.sys.ibm.pc.rt] GNU emacs for AIX/PS2 1.1?

catone@scrolls.wharton.upenn.edu (Tony Catone) (03/08/90)

Hi,

  We're running AIX/PS2 1.1 on an IBM PS/2 model 80. We thought we'd ordered
everything we needed, but we left out the Application Development Toolkit, so
right now we're stuck without cpp, make and most other things you need to be
productive. We have the ADT on order, but in the meanwhile many of our users
have been asking us about getting gnu emacs for the machine; they know emacs,
and my assertions that vi is pretty nice once you get to know it (except for
not having windows) have not made much headway. Does anyone know of an
archive where we can get just the compiled executable; I know this sort of
archive was available for RT AIX 2.2.1. Alternatively, has anyone gotten
emacs to compile and have a tar file or whatever we can just ftp from your
site? Thanks for any help anyone can give.

- Tony
