[comp.sys.ibm.pc.rt] Prototyping boards

rph@cs.brown.edu (Richard Hughey) (04/11/90)

Has anybody out there seen good prototyping boards
for the mac or any of the ibm PC family?

For example, I've seen an ad for the Omnibyte
parallel IO board for Multibus with 96 bits of
programmable IO and room for wire-wrap parts (35 sq.
inches), which strikes me as an excellent start for
testing and experimenting custom chips.

Mostly what I've come across is a some small number of
parallel IO ports on a board, which isn't quite the same
as a prototyping board like the Omnibyte.

At the moment, finding the board is perhaps the most
important, as there is much flexibility on what
machine I'll wind up using.

Please respond via e-mail since I don't read
these groups. Many thanks.
