I am not sure how does IBM HD works so here goes my question: A friend of mine has an IBM clone with a 44 meg. HD. Appearently, we can access to Drive A and C (he only has one floppy drive). C partition has 32 megs, which leave 12 megs somewhere? I suppose it was suppose to be at Drive D, but we just don't seem to be able to get to it. Could some knowledgable soul tell us the least trouble way of getting that Drive D to work? As we already have a lot of stuff on C. Thanks for all your help. Wayne

This is for RTs, not PCs . I have directed followups to comp.sys.ibm.pc.misc, but maybe they should go to a comp.os.msdos.* group. It seems obvious that this is a clone running MSDOS, so here are a few scenarios: 1. You are running MSDOS 3.3 or lower with BIOS that fully recognizes your drive type: use FDISK to create another DOS partition. 2. You are running MSDOS 4.0 or greater with BIOS that fully recognizes your drive type: same as before, but you could have partitioned C: to be the whole drive. 3. Your BIOS doesn't fully support your drive type: you need to get something like OnTrack's DiskManager or Storage Dimension's SpeedStor to manage your hard drive for you. +-----All Views Expressed Are My Own And Are Not Necessarily Shared By------+ +------------------------------My Employer----------------------------------+ + Ronald S.
