I have recently purchased an IBM-PC XT from a private party. Included with the computer was a Quadram expansion board containing 256K of memory, serial and parallel ports, and a clock. However, the party had no documentation for the board because he purchased the computer from a friend. Without documentation and/or software for the board, I cannot configure it, change switch settings, or even communicate with the clock. I cannot find anyone within my company who owns one of these boards, therefore I make an appeal to the net for any information regarding these boards. If there is any software needed to run the clock, etc., I would appreciate any help in finding out how to get my hands on it, short of buying another board. Please send whatever information you can by whatever means you wish. electronic mail: ...!ucbvax!dual!qantel!ken paper mail: Ken Nichols 268 Anna Maria St. Livermore, CA 94550 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wellllll, Quadram,s address is: Quadram Corporation 4357 Park Drive Norcross, GA 30093 You need the manual to set the switches and there is software for several functions: Setting the Clock - SETCLK.BAS Loading Clock into DOS - PWRUPCLK.COM QuadRAM Drive (E-Drive) - QD.EXE Print Spooler (QSPOOL) - QSPOOL.COM Printer Swap (QSWAP) - QSWAP.COM When you get the manual and software, I recommend ignoring their statement about not setting the switch for parity check on their memory because "Sometimes it is better for a program to produce a few erroneous results rather than no results at all.". I think that is ludicrous. Good Luck !! -- -Chuck Bennett- 919-966-1134 ... ...!(decvax,akgua)!mcnc!ecsvax!uchuck
