When I try to make a dump of a file system on our streaming tape (6157-002) which should be capable of 150MB, I can do what I want with the dump command (changing s and d, length and density) but never get more than about 15MB on it. -- Peter Mutsaers email: muts@fysap.fys.ruu.nl Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht muts@fys.ruu.nl Princetonplein 5 tel: (+31)-(0)30-533880 3584 CG Utrecht, Netherlands

The command I use is something like: dump u0sf 15000 /dev/rst0 /u/webb When it fails, does it fail with a message from dump wanting another tape or does it fail with an I/O error because you are at the end of the tape? ---------------------------------------------------------------- The above views are my own, not necessarily those of my employer.
