[comp.sys.ibm.pc.rt] HC compiler

misha@SHUM.HUJI.AC.IL (Michael Pak) (04/17/91)

Hi there, RT people.

I have posted this question several times before, and I have also received
some replies, and yet I have decided to post this request again.

As you know, HC 1.4 can't compile a lot of X stuff, and has other problems too,
and PCC produces incorrect assembly code (try, for example, compiling xrn6-15
with pcc). Therefore, we are in a need for a GOOD compiler, and as I have heard,
HC 2.1 versions s-y, comply with that requirement.
In my last request for that compiler, I have received a letter from Eric
Brunner, stating that there is no InterNet accessible site from which HC
can be 'ftp'ed. He told me that I can get it via UUCP from 'ibmsupt.
But, we have no UUCP access from Israel to the outside world (at least not from
HUJI). He also mentioned a site in Sweden which might help.
So: if it is legally possible, can someone send me (or tell me how to get)
the latest version of HC (I understand IBM has withdrawn support for BSD for
RT)? If it is not legally possible, can someone tell me what is the name of
that Swedish site (I think it was Chalmers Univ. or something of the sort)?

Thanks in advance,
Misha.
