[comp.sys.ibm.pc.rt] IBM RT Model 6150 00

jas@mvaxcs1.cse.nau.edu (Jay Sandhaus) (04/29/91)

Help! I hate to be tying up valuable net space with drivel like
this, but I could really use some help. I've recently gotten a
pair of old IBM RTs up and running, and now I'm kinda stuck as
to what I can do with them. I'm running AIX ver 2.1.2 (the newest
I could find for the machines), and nothing seems to compile
right (obviously). Are there any FTP sites where I could find
source converted for use on the RTs? Does anyone else in the world
work with these behomoths? I'd appreciate any help you could send.
Thanks!

                        Jay

Yes, there are a few of us out there who still play with the #$%@ things.
Maybe if you could describe your problem a little more I might be able to
  help. I'm running an RT/PC 6150 on a net with IBM RS/6000s.
  Pete.

Jay, I can't help you with AIX 2.2.1 (is your "2.1.2" a typo?), however,
you ought to know that a version of 4.3bsd was released in source form
to academic sites by the IBM ACIS organization (Milford), and maintained
by the IBM AWD organization (Palo Alto) up until the end of last year.
There are quite a few 4.3bsd/RT academic sites -- on the internet and
you may want to compare notes with them. For internet ftp, our archive
is on bikini.cis.ufl.edu, with 4.3bsd/RT patches and so forth.

What do you intend to use the RTs for, what model are they?
