Another option, of course, is to run TCP on VMS.  Further, The
Wollongong VMS TCP supports a shared TCP/DECNet driver.

Sigh.

"PCIP" is a strange spelling for "VMS" so I certainly hope that this is
the pc distribution list.  I was simply trying to point out that the
pc-related problem that was being described can be solved in an
alternate manner.  Namely, by moving the "multiplexing
problem" with having to support dual protocols, off of the PC and onto
the VAX.

Somebody once told me that PCs like to have their life kept simple,
whereas VAXes run serious operating systems and are more comfortable
with the complexity...
