I have successfully connected a PC/AT Clone running the KA9Q package on Xenix 2.2 to a Sun3/160 over a 2400 baud modem connection using SLIP. However, I can only establish sessions in either direction between those two hosts, none of the other ethernet hosts connected to the sun are accessible directly from the PC. The addresses are as follows: 89.0.0.2 vsedev (System 5 UNIX machine Excelan HW/SW) 89.0.0.3 vsepca (Xenix machine Excelan HW/SW) 89.0.0.9 vsesun (Sun3/160 internal ethernet, SLIP) 89.0.0.10 softdev (Remote Xenix machine running KA9Q SLIP) There are more hosts but this is enough of a sampling to describe the problem. Like I mentioned... I can only start up a telnet/ftp session from the vsesun to softdev, or vice-versa. But when I attempt to start a session say from softdev to vsedev, no dice! I have tried many routing table combinations on both hosts, but have been unable to overcome this problem. Here's what the Sun's routing tables look like now: Routing tables Destination Gateway Flags Refcnt Use Interface softdev.vse.com softdev.vse.com UH 0 67 sl0 softdev.vse.com localhost UH 0 676 sl0 89.0.0 vsesun.vse.com U 4 9191 ie0 loopback localhost U 10 6114 lo0 And softdev's routing is by default sending all packets to sl0, which is a point-to-point link to vsesun. I have tried routing to say vsedev via sl0 through vsesun with a metric of 1, but that failed as well. Help! What am I doing wrong, or just plain not doing? -- ron@vsedev.vse.com (Ron Flax) uucp: ..!uunet!vsedev!ron inet: vsedev!ron@uunet.uu.net
