[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Request for help and information

HANK@TAUNIVM.BITNET (Hank Nussbacher) (01/26/88)

I am not on this list so please reply directly to me.

I am trying to find out as much as possible on Tcp/Ip implementations for
PCs. I used to know of a Delaware version and a Stanford version and an
MIT version and each did something a little better than the other. Has
anyone got a scorecard of what each does and how much each costs? Do you
have a scorecard for the vendor PC/IP implementations (UB, IBM, FTP
Software, etc.)? How much do they cost and what do they do that other
versions don't?

If you could build a PC network from scratch what would you use so as to
give interconnection to mainframes (VM, MVS, VMS, Unix, NOS) running
Tcp/Ip?

Please send me whatever you can. It will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Hank
