[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] voice over Ethernet

443185@UOTTAWA.BITNET (Marc Davidson) (02/29/88)

Has anybody had experience in transmitting PCM encoded voice over Ethernet?
Is it practical to use Ethernet for such an application? Does anybody know
of attempts to implement this?

I know these are heavy questions (maybe they are not) but any info would
greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
       Marc

Marc,

Believe it or not Fibronics has a product called the FVS6010 Voice
Server! Each voice server can support upto 16 telephones and you can
have 15 FVS's per net.
