[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Direct file print from PC using TCP/IP socket ?

KALLIO@jylk.jyu.fi (Seppo Kallio) (03/26/88)

We are using Bridge terminal (TCP/IP) servers with VAX and SUN computers.
We have done some experiments with programs printing files
directly to printers (laser, and other) connected a Bridge CS/200
RS-port. These programs send files using TCP/IP directly and they work
fine: we can now share same printers with VAX/VMS and SUN/Unix computers.

Now we would like to print files from micros to these same printers too.
I have looked the code of KA9Q:s program, but I can not find these same
procedure names (socket, connect, gethostbyname, ..) I have been using in
SUN Unix and VAX WIN/TCP. So can anyone help me? Have someone done
this kind of program for MS-DOS somewhere (PD?)?
