[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] public domain tcp-ip

williams@vrdxhq.UUCP (Tim Williams) (03/24/88)

Being new to this news group, I have a question. Is there a public domain
TCP-IP implementation for the PC. What I need are both source and exe files.
I will be tyring to port the code to a new ethernet board that we are
building. If these are availabale please email them to me or send me your
name and address and I will send you some diskettes with a mailer for the
program.

        Thanks in advance
          Tim Williams

You can get one of the best Telnet/FTP implementations available (commercially
or otherwise) from the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA).
at: 152 Computing Applications Building
    605 E. Springfield Ave.
    Champaign, Il. 61820

It is free including source (except for a fee to cover distribution costs).
It supports Multiple sessions, scrollback, screen capture, and a server ftp
implementation. It has been implemented for 3Com, Micom-Interlan, and
Ungerman-Bass on the PC. Also, there is a MAC implementation. Vt102 and
Tektronix 4014 emulation on the PC, and a rumored 3279 emulation in Beta for
the MAC version.

Try contacting them at "telbug%newton@uxc.cso.uiuc.edu" or
