[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Need Advice on NETBIOS over TCP/IP

philf@med-isg.stanford.edu (Phil Fernandez) (07/27/88)

(Apologies if this is a duplicate posting; had trouble w/ Pnews)

I am working with a network PC CD-ROM server vendor to make their
system work on a TCP/IP net. They use NETBIOS for PC<->server
communication, but currently only support 3Com's NETBIOS interface.

I am looking to identify a NETBIOS over TCP/IP product that would
substitute for the current 3Com interface. To be useful, this
software should support the 3Com 3C501, 3C503, and 3C523 interface
cards, or ideally would support the 3Com Vector interface or a packet
driver interface. PD would be great, but commercial products are of
interest. We'd very much like to get source, however.

I'd appreciate pointers, advice, insights, etc. Please mail directly
to me; I'll summarize to the net if there's interest. Thanks much...
