Western Digital's WD8003/A uses the Nat. Semi. 8390 LAN controller chip.
3Com's 3C523, U-B's NIC-PS/2 and MICOM-Interlan's NI9210 all use the Intel
82586 LAN controller chip.  They are all architecturally similar, in that
they have no on-board processor and use shared memory.  In my opinion,
most speed differences you might see would probably be a function of the
skill of the driver author and the speed of the underlying PS/2 platform,
not the cards themselves.

Neither controller chip is capable of receiving packets at the minimum
Ethernet back-to-back separation, but I don't think Netware is likely
to be as bothered by this as TCP/IP can be.
