[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] NCSA telnet 2.2, domain nameservers, and gateways?

dclaar@hpcupt1.HP.COM (Doug Claar) (11/05/88)

I just started using the NCSA 2.2 telnet stuff, and have a question:
Does the domain server part work if the server is on a different
subnet? I had hoped it would go through the gateway to find the
server, but it doesn't seem to. Of course, I don't really know
what I'm talking about, but it sounds reasonable :-)

If the server should work this way, then I have to figure out
what's wrong...If it isn't supposed to work that way, then I won't
have to figure out what this all means--I'll just suggest it as an
enhancement!

Well, must have been local problems--the nameserver part is
working now!
