[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Wollongong WIN/PC with 3Com 3c505

ljm@TWG.COM (Leo J McLaughlin) (12/07/88)

Troy,
The 3c505 is a "smart" card which the Wollongong software uses as a
dumb one. Unfortunately, this means that sending a packet means sending
a command (PCB) to the board and waiting for it's CPU to get around to
servicing your request. We were not patient enough, this is fixed in
WIN/TCP for DOS 4.0.
