Dear Sir, I was passed a copy of the pcip score board from Hank Nussbacher that sounded like it went past you for review. If you could give me an idea of where I could find out if there is a public domain or 3rd party package besides IBM's PCIP that supports the Token Ring (IBM's) I would greatly appreciate it. The score board shows Ether and cheaper net cards but does not mention the Token Ring.

The only TCP/IP-over-802.5 drivers for DOS that I know of are: IBM's TCP/IP for DOS, derived from CMU by people at UMD FTP's TOKREUI version of PC/TCP (PC-119 and PC-219) FTP's ProNET-4 (p1340/1344) version of PC/TCP (PC-108, PC-208 is in progress) I believe IBM's code uses the TOKREUI (ASI) interface, as well. It is worth giving either product a try with non-IBM TOKREUI emulators, but I have seen some variation in quality of emulation. Everyone uses the same encapsulation (RFC 1042), so they all interoperate. 802.5 ARP is rather tricky, particularly if you want to use IBM source-routing bridges. This is probably why there aren't any 802.5 drivers for public- domain packages (that I know of). James B. VanBokkelen We're moving. After 2/26, the new number FTP Software Inc. will be (617) 246-0900.
