I just started reading this group, so my apologies if this question has been answered recently. I am currently running Phil Karn's excellent KA9Q package, but just recently purchased a Tiara ethernet card. Is there a packet driver in existence for this card? If so, where do I get it? I realize I could implement one myself (the card uses the National chipset) but I'd like to avoid writing a hardware driver unless I have to. Thanks in advance for any assistance. P.S. I also know of someone who has a Gateway ethernet card, who has the same question (i.e. he's looking for a packet driver)... -- Bernie Roehl, University of Waterloo Electrical Engineering Dept Mail: broehl@watdcsu.UWaterloo{.edu,.csnet,.cdn} BangPath: {allegra, decvax, utzoo, clyde}!watmath!watdcsu!broehl Voice: (519) 745-4419 [home] (519) 885-1211 x 2607 [work]

Tiara has two cards (a microchannel card and an AT card (16 bit only)) that use a Fujitsu ethernet chip called the MB86950 EtherStar. Tiara hasn't agreed to write a packet driver for it yet, but we've talked to them about it. Call them up and suggest it too. I think they also have an 8-bit card with the National chip on it (I havn't seen this one). If this is what you have, then it probably wouldn't take much work on Robert Clements' WD8003 packet driver to get it working. Gateway has done a packet driver. This would be best obtained directly from Gateway (ideally it would be shipped with the card) but we do have a copy if you can't. David Bridgham dab@ftp.com FTP Software
