I'm curious to find out if anyone else is using the Apricot Qi 300 or 600 series with the built-in Ethernet interface. I'm rather new at this, but am interested in hooking a couple of them with the PD software available. I'm not even sure of the specs of the board it uses, but, it's on the Apricot MCA machine and one of the drivers has the usage words of: Apricot/Intel Ethernet LLC VR 3.1.0 29th Sept 1988 (Qi series) Ether592: LAN chip diagnostics check - passed Ether592: LAN chip configuration check - passed Ether592: Network TDR/continuity check - open circuit ... etc. etc. etc. etc. Anyway ... I haven't opened the machine up to look at the chip set, but the card is shielded quite well with metal casing all around. Anyway else have info on this machine? I'd be interested in hearing back. Dan.

Apricot has an NDIS driver for that card (it may not be available commercially yet). We've been working with a copy of it, using our NDIS-to-Packet-Driver converter and our PC/TCP product. Works fine. If you had a similar converter, you'd be able to use PC-IP or KA9Q instead of PC/TCP. All of which illustrates the motivation for the Packet Driver; not having to write drivers over and over and over.... James B.
