We need a VT220-emulation running under DOS on top of PC-NFS or FTP/TCP. Any hints or recommendations on available products are welcome. Please respond via E-mail to ...pyramid!pcsbst!rw or ...uunet!unido!pcsbst!rw Rudi Wildgruber, PCS Germany

Excelan and FTP Software both offer VT220 emulations with their respective DOS TCP/IPs (ours is only in v2.0). I don't know details of theirs, ours supports 8-bit controls if the telnet connection can negotiate the Binary option, and supports the DEC ISO Latin characters you probably want. Ours also supports up to 10 simultaneous sessions, and has a built-in FTP server. If you want something fancier, look into Walker, Richer & Quinn's Telnet Manager, or Distributed Computing Systems's EM220 package; both are available in versions for various DOS TCP/IP packages. If you already have an async terminal emulator you like, and it can either load as a console driver (like ANSI.SYS) or operate via the BIOS asynch INT 14 interface, it will work with our TNGLASS (the INT 14 version hasn't made it into the documentation yet; it will be bundled later this summer but right now it is separate, $40 extra). Beame & Whiteside's BWTEL also works with INT 14-based emulators. James B. VanBokkelen 26 Princess St., Wakefield, MA 01880 FTP Software Inc. voice: (617) 246-0900 fax: (617) 246-0901
