[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Extended print through with NCSA 2.2D

wdw@aucs.uucp (Bill Wilder) (07/28/89)

I am trying to use the printing escape sequence now supported
in NCSA TELNET (version 2.2D) and am having a problem. Sequence
"<ESC>[5i" opens the capture file and "<ESC>[4i" closes the capture
file. I have "prn" defined as my capture file in CONFIG.TEL.

The problem I am having is that auto-capture does not appear to work
unless capturing has earlier been invoked manually with Alt-C.
If I press Alt-C twice in succession (to open and immediately close
the capture file) then subsequent print through works. If capturing
is not manually toggled then the escape sequences still show
capture enabled and disabled but no data is sent to the printer.

I tried the two second delays stated in the manual but this did not
seem to help.

Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Many thanks.
