[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] NCSA Software and 3C503 card?

heasley@uhccux.uhcc.hawaii.edu (Jim Heasley) (08/23/89)

Apologies to all as I'm sure this has been asked before, but does anyone
have a version of the NCSA software that works with the 3Com 3C503
board, i.e., the EtherLink II card? A colleague of mine is would like to
use this software on his AT clone and he already has the 3C503 card.
The most recent version I have supports the old 3C501, the WD8003, and
some other ethernet interfaces but not the newer EtherLink II. A
version I could grab via anonymous FTP would be very helpful.

In a related matter, has anyone developed a version of this same
software which works on *any* ethernet card that fits *inside* a Toshiba
3100 portable computer (we're looking for boards that mount inside the
Toshiba rather than into an expansion chassis)? Another colleague has
such a machine he'd like to hook up to the Boston U. network. Any
pointers to specific ethernet boards for the Toshiba and NCSA software
to run it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

P.S. - please ack direclty via e-mail rather than posting to this
newsgroup as at the moment I only have access to news via one of my
accounts in Hawaii, and it's real painful going across a continent
and half an ocean to just read mail!
