[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Ethernet For Laptops

heasley@uhccux.uhcc.hawaii.edu (Jim Heasley) (08/27/89)

Can anyone point me to ethernet interfaces for laptop computers? In
particular, I'm interested in something that will work with a Toshiba
3100. And perhaps as important as the hardware, does said device
work with the NCSA telenet/ftp software, either directly or using a
packet driver?

Please ack via e-mail as I can long read this newsgroup via a remote
login to Hawaii from Boston. Thanks in advance.

Saw an interesting ad in LAN magazine, August 89, page 98,
from a firm called XIRCOM, interesting device called POCKET ETHERNET
ADAPTER: parallel port on one end, Ethernet BNC on the other end!!
Ad shows a laptop connecting to a thin Ethernet.
Phone number in ad says 818 884-8755 Woodland Hills, CA.
Sounds perfect for any laptop!!
Just passing on what I read, no hands on experience myself.
