Can someone tell me what PC (and Mac if known) tn3270 packages support multiple sessions while connected to an IBM? We are specifically interested in the software that will connect to an MVS/XA system running IBM's TCP/IP software. Although I am aware of a number of products that have the tn3270 support, I can't seem to determine from any documentation whether any of them support multiple sessions (eg. NCSA tn3270 & FTP Software tn3270). Our administrative programming staff have requirements for having multiple sessions (eg. TSO, VPS). Beame & Whiteside Software Ltd. have a beta TN3270 which runs from 6 to 8 sessions. Each session can be VT102/VT52 or TN3270. I also beleive that Excelan's TN3270 can run multiple sessions when run under MSwindows. - Carl Beame Beame@McMaster

Our Macintosh product supports multiple TN3270 (TN3278-2, TN3278-3, TN3278-4, TN3270-5, TN3279/A) sessions. Our DOS product does not currently support multiple TN3270 sessions. enjoy, leo j mclaughlin iii The Wollongong Group ljm@twg.com (415)962-7100

FTP's telnet does support multiple sessions, up to ten of them. To switch between sessions, you just hit the F10 key, then the number (0 - 9) of the session you want.

Oops! I just spoke with one of the developers, and it turns out that multiple sessions are not available with the tn3270 emulator. And I thought the telnets all had the same options... apologetically, frances ftp software

We are an IBM and VAX shop. The multiple sessions are ASCII sessions only. You can only have one IBM 3270 session. If you have an IBM 3270 session you can't have any ASCII sessions. If you have one or more ASCII sessions, you can't have an IBM 3270 session.
