[net.micro] Question about RTOS/PLM86

ditzel@ssc-bee.UUCP (Charles L Ditzel) (03/01/85)

I am interested in finding out if *anyone* in netland is using RTOS and PLM86
(RTOS is a multiuser, multitasking os. it includes a configured version
of Intel's iRMX86, Link86,LOC86,LIB86,OH86,87Debug) for *any* application on
an IBM PC?

Currently my interest is in creating an inexpensive development environment
compatible with my target environment which is an Intel86/30 Single
Board Computer (iSBC 86/30) running the iRMX86 operating system and using the
PLM86 language. Currently our target system can only be configured for
one user.

We have six software developers. Hence the logjam.

One idea was to use RTOS and PLM86 on three available IBM PCs. The question
of compatability/portablity of the code is critical.

I am in need (as quickly as possible ) of the following information:
+ How compatible is RTOS (using PLM86) with Intel's iRMX86 operating system?
(Are they one and the same or are there major differences?)
+ How portable is the RTOS/PLM86 code from an IBM PC to an Intel iRMX86/PLM86
  Development System.
+ Of particular interest is how portable/compatible are the multi-tasking
  features of RTOS to iRMX86?
+ What type of application are you developing (if you are developing)?

I would be extremely appreciative of any information that
        would help?
