We to have been looking for a way to hook up a IBM PC AT with a IBM TOKEN RING ADAPTER II to the campus network which consists mainly of Ethernet connected PC's running NCSA's TELNET. I thought we had found when the new packet drivers came out including one for the IBM TOKEN RING ADAPTER. The driver sure sounds like it should fit the bill, the only problem is it requires PC LAN support programs: DXMAOMOD.SYS DXMCOMOD.SYS DXMTOMOD.SYS I don't know where these programs are located but they do not come with IBM PC LAN version 1.1 which we have. Unless someone knows of where these programs can be gotten I am again looking for a solution. Jeff Cortez University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana cortez@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu

The LAN Support Program can be gotten from IBM. As a matter of fact, it is called IBM LAN Support Program and it replaces the following three programs: - TOKREUI.COM - TOKR3270.COM - NETBEUI.COM Marc. ===================================================================== Marc Levesque Telephone: (506) 453-4573 Computing Services PO Box 4400 Netnorth/Bitnet: MARC@UNB.CA University of New Brunswick Fredericton, NB Canada E3A 5A3

Jeff Cortez asks about the IBM PC LAN Support Program... It is sold as a separate product by IBM for about 50 bucks/PC (with quantity discounts if you know the right IBM'er). Note that the file names are of the form DXM_0MOD.SYS (zero, not oh). If I have it straight, DXMA... is the actual hardware driver, DXMC... is the DOS interrupt arbitrator, and DXMT... is NetBios. Or something like that. I put them in, they work, I'm happy and have long periods of uninterrupted sleep.:-) Phil Haskett South Dakota State University

The DXM????.SYS files are IBM's "LAN Support Program" for their Token Ring adapters. You can buy them from IBM, they replace the TOKREUI.EXE that IBM used to sell. If you're lucky, the Packet Driver will also work with TOKREUI (I know our 802.5 driver does). James B.
