[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] wd8003e packet driver on 386 with dos4.01

Hello, Im having trouble installing a packet-driver for the western
digital cards on our ECS386cache with Phoenix Bios and dos4.01.  It
reports the error that specified memory location is occupied.  This is
not true (the diagnostics program from WD is running ok, even with
external loopback test.  So, could the error be attributed to dos4.01
(we do not use it on other machines) or on the memory setup of the 386
(no EMS enabled).  Any suggestions welcome.  The driver version is 4.3.
