[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Ethernet cards that emulate 3COM cards

Hello,
I am trying to run Appleshare PC over Ethernet cards on PS/2's
and PC XT's. Someone from Apple was saying that 3COM cards or those cards
that emulate 3COM cards probably would work.
Here are some questions:

1. Are there any 'cheapo' ethernet cards that do 3COM emulation?
2. I have heard from one source that early model 3COM cards for the XT's
aren't as good as others. Are there any 3COM models to avoid?
3. Are all microchannel cards up in the $350+ range?
4. Has anyone had experience with AppleShare PC over Ethernet? Is NCSA
Telnet or MIT/CMU/Harvard PC-IP happy with it?

	Thanks,

	Scott
