[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] 3c523 packet driver question

KGJHH@ASUACAD.BITNET (Jim Howard) (01/12/90)

Does anyone know if the 3c523 packet driver distributed through Clarkson
has the software setting for internal vs. external transceiver hard
coded into it? I get a "TDR ok" message on startup, but then it just
hangs.

It works fine for me with an external transceiver. Are you trying
to use BNC?

I have used the packet driver for the 3c523 with NCSA Telnet and Netware
as well as a few other packages without trouble. I have been using the
onboard transceiver. I sometimes get error messages from the TDR code,
but the card has always worked. I have switched from using INT 3 to
INT 7 recently so as not to conflict with the internal modem I installed.
