In a recent discussion with the folks at SAS Institute about their new SAS/CONNECT product, they indicated that the version running under OS/2 would do all of its communications via EHLLAPI, including their support of TCP/IP. I gather that this means that each vendor needs to supply a driver but that then the application need not worry about the hardware. Thus providing the functionality of the "Packet Driver" that has emerged for use under DOS. Since many of us are considering the pros & cons of a transition to OS/2, I am wondering if anyone can provide more information about who has ethernet boards for the PC that provide drivers for EHLLAPI, and whether it is likely that drivers will emerge for those vendors who do not provide the drivers. -phil -- J.
