[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Packet driver problem

IJAH400@INDYVAX.IUPUI.EDU ("James A. Harvey") (02/09/90)

Has anyone else experienced the following packet driver problem:

I'm using the 3C503 packet driver that I got from zaphod.ncsa.uiuc.edu,
directory /NCSA_Telnet/PC.2.3beta/packet.exe. The driver installation
command I'm using is:

3c503 0x61 0x3 0x300 0x1

(software int. 61H, IRQ 3, ioaddr=300H, thinwire). The problem is that
sometimes after installing the driver (before running any network software)
the keyboard (the PC) locks up. Sometimes this occurs immediately after the
driver installation command, sometimes later. Any ideas? The machine is
a PS/2 model 30. The same symptom also occurs frequently on a Zenith 386
machine that is configured differently (different hardware interrupt and
i/o address, on thickwire).
