Can anyone tell me, in brief, the limitations in ethernet cabling? I'm particularly interested to know not so much length limits, but limits to the number of segments and number of devices on those segments, and the _reasons_ for those limits. Over the last few days, I've read several conflicting versions, but none of these gave any specific reasons. I have a situation which requires thick ethernet cabling and several repeaters which is to support a Novell and TCP/IP network, running a mix of PC's and Sun workstations.
